Sea King of Comedy

Created by Nicola 4 years ago

When we think of our Brother-in-law and Uncle, Simon, it’s a series of comedy moments that stand out. “I’m sorry I have to leave” he said as he lowered the kitchen stool to disappear behind the breakfast bar – Seb & Ellie still laugh at that one. His ability to mimic a small army of celebrities or recite numerous sketches word for word was unique along with his talent for singing – we were very honoured to have him sing Jerusalem as a solo at our wedding.

He had a wide knowledge and well constructed views on all manner of topics - he could hold his own with Adrienne’s Dad ( that’s saying something!) and his mechanical expertise and interest in all the modes of transport he owned over the years was remarkable. He was a pretty fine artist to boot.

But, of course, his big passion was flying and we fondly remember going to Jungly Cocktail parties, being in the Officer’s Marquee for the Yeovilton Air Day, a trip in a Sea King for Greg and a flight in a Harvard for Nicola.

So much fitted into too short a time.
